As the first ray of sunshine in 2026 shone over Tongan Bay, the quiet coastline was awakened by the sound of running footsteps.

At 8:00 a.m. on January 1st, the starting gun broke through the morning air, marking the official start of the 2026 Tongan New Year Fun Run on the East Ring Romantic Line, known as the "Most Beautiful Rainbow Track". The event set two categories: 10km fun run and 5km parent-child run. More than 2,000 runners from all over the country welcomed the new year with a running posture.
