On the afternoon of March 24, 2020, Professor Wang Zhi, Chief Expert of the China Textile Engineering Society, Technical Director of the Standardization Technical Committee of the China Textile Engineering Society, and Advisor to the Expert Technical Committee of the China Knitting Industry Association; Professor Tao Rong, Secretary-General of the Sub-Technical Committee for Textile Ecological Auxiliaries and Deputy Director of the Standard and Inspection Technical Committee; Bai Meng, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Development Department of the China Textile Engineering Society; Huang Hongchi, Engineer from the Xiamen Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute; along with more than ten experts from universities, inspection institutions, and leaders from renowned enterprises in the industry, visited our company to conduct an expert review of the group standard for "Disposable Underwear." Lin Jian, Chairman of Xiamen Youpai Company, and Vice Presidents Liao Weifu and Gui Zhibin, along with other key leaders, participated in this industry event as representatives of the leading drafting unit for this group standard. The review meeting was chaired by Professor Tao Rong.

Experts Visit Xiamen Youpai Company

First, Bai Meng, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Development Department of the China Textile Engineering Society, provided a detailed introduction to the "Group Standard Management Regulations." It was mentioned that the formulation of group standards is just the beginning. The next step involves using group standards as the basis for certification and accreditation, establishing a system for certification and accreditation around the group standards, and promoting the application and adoption of Chinese standards internationally, hoping to facilitate the alignment of Chinese standards with international standards.

Subsequently, Chairman Lin Jian, on behalf of Xiamen Youpai Company, extended a sincere welcome to the experts for taking valuable time out of their busy schedules to visit our company and provide guidance and review for the group standard on "Disposable Underwear." Chairman Lin Jian stated that in recent years, disposable underwear products have been in a phase of rapid development. During this phase, for a product to develop healthily, it faces the issue of product standardization. The Sanlu milk powder incident serves as a cautionary tale; when consumers lose trust in a product, the industry can suffer a devastating blow. As one of the early manufacturers of disposable underwear in China, Xiamen Youpai Company has observed the industry entering an era of rampant growth. Some enterprises, in order to reduce costs or capture market share, have engaged in irresponsible practices regarding material use and hygiene control during production. To prevent this situation from continuing and to ensure healthy and rapid market growth, enterprises must be responsible to consumers. Therefore, Chairman Lin Jian believed it necessary to establish a relatively authoritative and verifiable standard as a basis. This idea also received strong support from the China Textile Engineering Society, leading to this review of the group standard for "Disposable Underwear."

The meeting proceeded to the review of the draft group standard for "Disposable Underwear." Wang Zhi, Technical Director of the Standardization Technical Committee of the China Textile Engineering Society, provided a detailed introduction to the basis and reference standards used during the compilation process of the group standard.

Next, Professor Jiang Hongying from Xiamen University of Technology read the draft standard article by article. During the reading, industry experts raised questions about parts of the group standard that they found doubtful, and the drafting personnel provided on-site responses. To facilitate better understanding during the Q&A session, Xiamen Youpai Company provided disposable underwear for the experts to examine, allowing everyone to conduct a more profound and intuitive study and understanding of the product. In response to the doubts raised by the experts, the professors and experts present conducted a more rigorous and detailed review and guidance on the group standard for "Disposable Underwear," revising the standard to make it more complete.

Finally, the secretariat of the China Textile Engineering Society compiled the meeting minutes, organized the improved group standard, and read out the revised sections for reconfirmation with the experts and professors. The revised group standard for "Disposable Underwear" received unanimous approval from the experts and professors. Secretary-General Tao Rong officially announced: The group standard for "Disposable Underwear" has successfully passed the review.
